Tacoma is a gripping and detailed game that takes place in Outer Space towards the end of the 21st century. Players are invited to board a party spaceboat that is inhabited by a cast of ghosts. Players are charged with discovering what happened to the crew of Tacoma Station and perhaps trying to stop disaster before it strikes again.
Setting Sail for Adventure
Players of Tacoma take on the role of an investigator who has been charged by employers Venturis Corp with finding out what happened to the crew of the space station/party boat. Players have to explore the vessel, picking up clues along the way to ultimately put the mystery together piece by piece. They will discover clips of crew members talking and performing tasks and gamers who have a cryptic mind are likely to be able to find the clues they need, although the controls are a little awkward, which can be off putting.
Can You Uncover the Mystery?
There is no doubt that Tacoma is visually stunning and there are plenty of fresh ideas that are sure to capture the imagination of many gamers and make them want to keep playing so that they can find out more. However, action fans are likely to be turned off, as the pacing of the game is very slow, especially at the start, and it can take quite a while to figure out what is going on.
